Course Description
iPad 101 — Getting Started with iPad
The first class you should take to get to know and use your new Apple iPad. Getting started with your brand new iPad can be a challenge so we'll take learning slowly and patiently. In this course you will learn the basics to get you up and running with your iPad including such topics as sending and receiving emails and text messages, surfing the Web, taking pictures, understanding your AppleID (iCloud), and installing apps on your iPad.
Sessions: 4 two-hour weekly class periods for a total of 8 hours
Course Requirements
Text: No additional textbook required we will use the free online Apple User Guide
Prerequisites: No prior courses or experience necessary
Syllabus
The following topics will be covered in this course.
Overview of setting up your iPad the very first time
Physical Buttons\Features\Accessories
Turning on and unlocking your iPad (lock screen, passcode vs. password, power off vs. sleep)
Navigating your iPad using gestures (Swiping between Home Screens, switching between apps…)
Some Basic Settings: Connecting to WiFi, About your iPad, adjusting Auto-Lock
Linking to the online version of the iPad Users Guide and adding a Home Screen shortcut
On-screen Features (Home Screens, Control and Notifications Panels, customizing the home screen)
AppleID Basics (find your AppleID and learn about your AppleID Password)
iCloud Basics (Intro Apple's Cloud service)
